CANGGU
Today’s all about ancient temple exploring and sunsets on the beach as you get a first taste of Bali’s beautiful culture. Tonight, we hit the dancefloor…
CANGGU
Canggu is known as one of the world’s most iconic surf destinations, and you'll soon see why as you hit the waves with the help of local Balinese surf instructors.
LOVINA
Lovina will steal your heart with its rolling rice paddies and smiley welcome. We’ll squeeze in some temple exploring and a dip in a waterfall before arriving at our unique accommodation, in the mountains with infinity pool views of rice paddies. The next day it’s all aboard a traditional outrigger boat as we cruise on the lookout for wild dolphins. We’ll then visit a local family where you’ll get a unique insight into Balinese life.
GILI T
Crystal clear waters and swaying palm trees are on the agenda as we catch the fast ferry to Gili T, the largest of the three Gili Islands. With a free afternoon feel yourself slipping easily into island time, Bintang in hand, before a night out island style. The next day we’ll explore the island on two wheels, beach hopping from one sandy shore to the next before capturing pics of an incredible Sunset!
GILI T
Travelling by boat, we’ll explore the beauty of the Gili Islands, stopping along the way for plenty of snorkel breaks to spot turtles and other colourful marine life. The following day we say goodbye to paradise, taking a quick boat trip over to the stunning island of Lombok, spending the day seeing the sights, then staying the night in a village by Indonesia's second largest volcano.
LOMBOK
Today we’ll travel to Kuta, with plenty of time to relax and explore later. We’ll then head to some of the beautiful beaches that line Lombok’s coast, as well as taking you to one of our favourite spots for sunset, where the friendly locals will surely want a chat and to take some snaps with you.
KUTA
Seeing the sites and traditional Sasak villages of Lombok is on the agenda for today. Later, there’s time to chill by the pool and explore the surf town of Kuta before heading out for dinner and drinks. The next day, the chilled out cultural mecca of Ubud awaits as you travel back over to Bali by ferry.
UBUD
You’ve seen the pictures, now experience Ubud’s famous Monkey Forest for real! A centuries old temple overrun by monkeys, today’s your chance to check out these mischievous primates.
UBUD
It’s an early start as you head out for a once-in-a-lifetime sunrise trek. Joined by a Local Guide, hike up an active volcano and summit just as the sun peaks over the horizon for breakfast with a view. This afternoon relax and un-wind with a traditional Balinese massage. The next day we'll be leaving Bali again, this time we are catching a short flight over to the island of Flores, the gateway to Komodo National Park.
KOMODO
The start of our unforgettable 2-night boat expedition, we will be jumping aboard our traditional Phinisi inspired boat, soaking up the sun and taking in the views of the stunning Komodo National Park. We will stop off at a viewpoint and snorkelling spot before watching sunset with a twist – thousands of bats flying above, heading out for their night-time search for food. Tonight is spent sleeping on the boat in basic but comfortable cabins.
KOMODO
Today is jam-packed with bucket-list experiences. Instagram famous viewpoints for sunrise, a mesmerising pink beach, snorkelling with manta rays, and of course, a visit to see the Komodo Dragons – the only place in the world where you can see them in the wild. A truly memorable day! Our second night is spent sleeping on the boat again.
LABUAN BAJO
It’s time to head back to the mainland after our epic cruise through Komodo National Park. The afternoon can be spent relaxing by the pool or on the beach back at our hotel, or you can pop into the town of Labuan Bajo to get any last-minute souvenirs. The next day, your unforgettable 19-day adventure comes to an end. Those flying home will make their way to the airport, or keep living the dream and extend your stay in Indonesia with our help and the new friends you’ve made.
Making a positive difference to the amazing destinations we travel is at the core of what we do. Small Change is our own socially conscious initiative aimed at making the world that little bit better place to explore!
Check out the #SmallChange you'll be part of while doing this tour. Click hereThe great thing about Bali is it’s usually quite hot all year round, so it’s great to go at any time. There are generally 2 broad seasons in Bali. April to September is usually dry and hot. October to March is slightly cooler with a slightly higher chance of rain, but this rain is often only for an hour or so, which can be a nice relief from the heat.
This is a backpacker style trip, aimed at those happy to stay in nice budget 2-3 star style accommodation. It also includes an exclusive 2 night stay at INTRO's stunning private villa in Lovina with multi-share rooms of 4 - 6 beds and also includes some slightly more rugged and authentic experiences such as a traditional stay in the foothills of Mount Rinjani and a liveaboard boat trip in Komodo.
Journey times in Indonesia are very dependent on the traffic and subject to change at any moment due to the small roads nestled between rice paddies, volcanic mountain ranges and bustling cities. 30km distances may take up to 2 hours in our minibus. Bringing a neck pillow might make your journey more comfortable!
Indonesia is home to delicious authentic local foods such as Nasi/Mie Goreng and Babi Guling however western food is available throughout the trip. Due to the organic way food is produced in Indonesia, without the use of chemicals, you may be exposed to bacteria your body is not use to and have a usually mild but possibly uncomfortable digestive reaction. There is generally no need to worry, and your group leader will be able to advise you on the best treatment. Any issues usually last no more than 24-48 hours.
